Cheddar & Co is proud to serve the finest cheese from abroad as well as wonderful, prize-winning cheese from the surrounding area. We carry 40-50 varieties of artisan cheeses.
Michelle is always searching for interesting flavors and textures for the cheeses she picks to sell in the store. The cheese case is always available for sampling and discussion. Cheddar & Co is pleased to carry some raw milk varieties of cheese made here in Canada including Avonlea Raw Milk Cheddar from P.E.I., 5 year old Cheddar from Quebec, Le Ceil de Charlevoix from Quebec and Bouq Emmesier from Quebec, to name just a few.
We bring in traditional Stilton and Cheddars from England, made for generations by the same family. We have wonderful Italian cheeses, aged pecorinos, Buffalo mozzarella, Parmigianino Reggiano, Taleggio, Fontina and Michelle's favorite, Brochetto el Turtuffo (a Pecerino studded with truffle). Bellisimo!
Cheddar & Co receives an import order from France every 3-4 weeks which will usually include Comte, Morbier, Triple cream Bries, Camemberts and mountain cheeses.
We have an excellent choice of Island cheeses including David Wood goats milk cheeses from Salt Spring Island and Moonstruck Organic Cheese Co, Hilary's Cheese from Cowichan bay and Natural Pastures award winning cheese from the neighboring Comox Valley.
